here are a few tips to optimize its lifespan and to help you enjoy it safely.
prepare your space
- place your candle on a flat, heat-resistant surface.
- protect delicate materials such as wood or marble with a stand or tray.
- keep candles away from handle with care materials.
- keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
light the candle
- we recommend lighting your candle with a match to avoid any risk of burning yourself.
- during the first burn, make sure to let the candle burn until a uniform pool of melted wax has formed (about 4 hours depending on the scent). this prevents the wax from tunneling and allows the wick to absorb the wax properly, ensuring an even burn thereafter. wicks may produce a small amount of smoke when first lit.
while burning
- do not burn the candle for more than 4 hours at a time after the first burn.
- never leave a burning candle unattended.
- do not move a burning or unlit hot candle.
- keep it away from draft.
- leave at least 10 cm (4 inches) between two candles.
after each use
- snuff out the flame: use a snuffer to avoid splashing hot wax.
- re-center the wick once the candle is out.
- before relighting your candle, use a wick trimmer to trim the wick (ideal length: 3 to 5 mm) to avoid risk of heat.
final note
- stop using your candle once there is only 5 mm of wax left or the metal wick sustainer base becomes visible.
after care and storage
- we recommend airing out the room after burning a candle.
- allow the wax to cool completely before moving your candle.
- store it in a dry, temperate place (15 c-25 c / 59 f-77 f), away from direct sunlight to avoid discoloration, pigmentation or dislodge of the wax.
